The white filters go through an oxygen cleansing and hot water washing process that is a bleach-free, ensuring no chemical residue or taste is imparted to the filter. The filters are compostable and biodegradable.

The natural filters go through a hot water washing process only, to retain the natural color.  The filters are compostable and biodegradable.
