Inspired by the Marimba musical instrument, one of the earliest melodic instruments made by man. It's very similar to a xylophone with different-sized wooden keys which are struck with mallets. In Guatemala, where the biggest development of the instrument was within South America, the word Marimba means “the wood that sings”.
